COCC to sponsor Sunday Lenten Vespers

DETROIT, MI [COCC] -- The Council of Orthodox Christian Churches of Metropolitan Detroit (COCC) will sponsor a series of Vespers services on the five Sundays of Orthodox Great Lent:

- March 1, Sunday of Orthodoxy, at the Antiochian Orthodox Basilica of St. Mary, 18100 Merriman Rd., Livonia

- March 8, Sunday of St. Gregory Palamas, at St. Stevan Decanski Serbian Orthodox Church, 14235 E. 11 Mile Rd., Warren

- March 15, Sunday of the Holy Cross, at St. Thomas Orthodox Church, 29159 W. 10 Mile Rd., Farmington Hills

- March 22, Sunday of St. John Climacus, at Sts. Constantine & Helen Greek Orthodox Church, 36375 Joy Rd., Westland

- March 29, Sunday of St. Mary of Egypt, at the Descent of the Holy Ghost Romanian Orthodox Church, 31500 Ryan Rd., Warren

All services will begin at 6 p.m. They will be conducted by members of the Clergy Brotherhood of St. John Chrysostom of Metropolitan Detroit. The Orthodox Choir of Metropolitan Detroit will sing the responses during the services.
