FOCUS developing tutors and collecting reading books

DETROIT, MI -- March is “Reading Month” and local non-profit organization, FOCUS–Detroit, is continuing to train tutors for their Tutoring and Reading Programs in Detroit elementary schools.  You can sign up to read to a child at a convenient time at a school in Midtown area or join other tutors in a classroom setting after school at a location in Southwest Detroit.

FOCUS is also collecting new and gently used reading books for K-6th grade aged children that will be given out to kids and families through their partnerships with Detroit schools and organizations.

To inquire about becoming an approved tutor or to conduct a reading books drive or donated reading books contact FOCUS–Detroit at (248) 671-4483 or Detroit@focusna.org.

For more information about the organization visit www.focusdetroit.org.  You can also CLICK HERE download their Spring 2016 Newsletter.
